About Senses Fail
Senses Fail is a pioneer in American post-hardcore music and have proved themselves to be survivors in the volatile business of music today. Since 2001, Senses Fail has provided us with explosive, high energy riffs, thundering rhythms and heartbreakingly honest lyrics. After seven studio albums, countless tours, and a hefty list of band member changes, Senses Fail shows no sign of hitting the brakes any time soon.
Vocalist James Nielsen, guitarists Garrett Zablocki and Dave Miller, bassist James Gill, and drummer Dan Trapp were the founding members of Senses Fail. After replacing Gill with Mike Glita, the band was in full force playing at any gig they could find. They entered the studio and released From the Depths of Dreams in 2002. The ECA Records release was two 3-song demo CDs but was later combined as an independent release by producer John Naclerio. The single release proved to be successful, gaining the attention of Drive-Thru Records. After signing with them and re-releasing a vamped-up version of the EP, the band toured with Finch, The Used, and The Starting Line.
The release of Let it Enfold You in 2003 sold over 500,00 copies in the United States. The band began to witness mainstream success after releasing the music video for “Buried A Lie”, and were featured on magazines like Kerrang!, Rolling Stone, and Spin. The band toured extensively in in the mid 2000’s; The Taste of Chaos tour, a handful of Warped Tours and other co-headlined tours with the likes of The Early November and Emanuel.
Senses Fail eased the hard-hitting beats to make room for some emotion in Still Searching released in 2006. In the next year, Mike Glita left the band to pursue a side project, and was replaced by Jason Black.
Life is Not a Waiting Room and The Fire came in 2008-2010, and a Greatest Hits album was released in 2012. With every album, Senses Fail supported the release with a massive tour. They have circled the globe countless times at this point.
Senses Fail did not stop after the release of their Greatest Hits album. 2013 brought the band’s fifth studio album, Renacer. The next year, it was announced on the band’s Facebook page that a 10th Anniversary tour would commence.
A similar announcement was made for their fifteenth-year anniversary, and Senses Fail embarked on the Quince Años Tour in 2017. The band announced an acoustic EP titled In Your Absence on the same day, which featured 3 new songs alongside acoustic renditions of some of their classics.
