Seattle Storm Tickets
The Seattle Storm has been one of the best franchises in the WNBA since they joined in 2000, boasting some of the best players that the league has ever seen. After winning just 16 total games in their first two seasons—and finishing in the 8th in the Western Conference both years—the Storm drastically improved in their third year, winning 17 games and qualifying for the playoffs (where they lost to the Los Angeles Sparks in two games).
Bouncing Back from Early Struggles
Two years later, with a roster featuring Sue Bird, Lauren Jackson, and Betty Lennox, the Storm won 20 regular season games and then went on to take the title. Lennox was named WNBA Finals MVP that year, and the Australian forward Jackson earned a Peak Performer Award (she was also awarded an ESPY for WNBA Player of the Year).
The Storm spent the next five years in frustration, making the playoffs every season but never reaching their peak collective ability and never winning a single postseason series. But that all changed in 2010, and the Storm rolled through the league in what was perhaps the most dominant season that a WNBA team has had to date.
They lost just six games that year, steamrolling through the WNBA playoffs without losing a single game. That powerhouse team boasted stellar play from Bird, Jackson, and WNBA legend Swin Cash, who joined the team in 2008. It was their second championship in franchise history, and it definitely won’t be their last.
