Running successfully since 2007, the three-day rock festival witnesses an attendance of around 120,000, bringing people from all over the US. Taking place in Columbus at the Mapfre Stadium, the choice of city was deliberate.
According to the co-producer of Rock on the Range, Joe Litvag, the state of Ohio has a tremendous rock n roll history. There are more rock fans in the region as compared to all the other areas, combined. Columbus served as a prime location due to the prestigious Ohio State University and also because of its central positioning.
The growing popularity of the festival encouraged the organizers to take it to Winnipeg as well, where it takes place at the Canad Inns Stadium. Founded by Danny Wimmer, his vision was to provide top-class live entertainment to the fans that allowed them to watch their favorite rock musicians under one roof.
