Rio Tinto Stadium
Rio Tinto Stadium is an outdoor soccer-specific stadium that is located in Sandy, Utah. It is most famously known as the home field to Major League Soccer's Real Salt Lake. It is commonly referred to as “The Rio T” by local fans. It is a relatively new stadium, having opened in 2008, but this young venue has already hosted some truly monumental sports and entertainment events, including the 2009 MLS All-Star Game, the second leg of the 2011 CONCACAF Champions League Finals, and the final of the 2013 Lamar Hut US Open Cup.
Although it was constructed mainly for professional soccer, this world-class stadium is also used for major touring concerts. This venue seats 20,213 for soccer games, but its capacity can be extended to over 25,000 people for concerts. The first concert hosted by the Rio Tinto was The Eagles in 2009. Since then, many other noteworthy artists have performed at the Rio Tinto, including Paul McCartney, KISS, and Neil Diamond.
Seeing a game at the Rio Tinto Stadium is quite enjoyable, as the unique layout allows for excellent views in most seats. Even the standing-room-only tickets provide fans with an excellent view of the concourse, which is crucial for soccer games. If you prefer a more extravagant experience, there are 32 luxury suites and 900 club seats available as well. In addition to the excellent view, the stadium's design creates natural acoustics which makes the crowd's roar especially exciting for the fans rooting for the home club. You can always count on the fans to provide an energetic environment.

Getting There and Getting In
Parking & Directions
The stadium is located at 9256 S State St, Sandy, UT 84070. This is an extremely busy road so finding parking can be difficult at times. Some of the local businesses nearby do offer parking for $5-$10, but those spots do tend to fill up fast on game night. Be sure to check with the business before you park somewhere to avoid being ticketed or towed. You may find more affordable parking if you are willing to walk further. Many guests prefer to take public transportation so they don't have to deal with traffic and parking.

Your three stop options are Historic Sandy Station, the Sandy Expo Station, or the Sandy Civic Center Station. If you are driving, State ST can be easily accessed via Interstate 15.
