Petco Park Tickets

With a killer view and a unique design, Petco Park stands out amongst Major League Baseball stadiums, drawing sports fans and A-list entertainers alike. Petco Park is an incredible open-air ballpark that is home to Major League Baseball's San Diego Padres. This stadium was opened in 2004 in downtown San Diego, and was part of the city's plans to revitalize the downtown area. The East Village area was the primary focus, which is why the stadium is located between 7th and 10th avenues. Don't miss your chance to experience this beautiful venue first hand with San Diego Padres tickets.

While it’s most well-known for being the official ballpark of the San Diego Padres, Petco Park has also hosted plenty of other events. In 2005, The Rolling Stones played Petco Park's first concert. The park has been used for the famous Comic-Con International convention, as well for the hit TV show American Idol.

The park has an incredibly unique aesthetic, differentiating itself significantly from other MLB ballparks that were built around the same time. While many parks through the 1990s and early 2000s were following a “retro” design (red bricks and green seats), Petco Park cast aside the typical choice in favor of a sleeker and more modern approach. The stadium's Indian sandstone and stucco evoke the sandy color of San Diego's famous beaches and cliffs. The white-painted exposed steel is supposed to represent the white sails of the boats in the bay, and dark blue seats conjure the ocean.

The stunning design does not end with the colors. The park is also unique because unlike most ballparks, the batter faces north, rather than northeast. This provides the fans with an incredible scenic backdrop from just about every one of the 42,445 seats. The audience members in the grandstands have an amazing view of the San Diego Bay, the San Diego skyline, Balboa Park, and the San Diego Zoo located within. Petco Park truly is one of the most visually dazzling parks in the country. For its superior design, Petco Park was awarded a prestigious Orchid award from the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Getting There and Getting In

Parking & Directions

The park is located downtown at 100 Park Blvd, San Diego, CA. Like any MLB ballpark in a downtown area, finding parking for the game can be difficult and expensive. The general consensus among experienced Padres fans is that taking the trolley is the best way to go. There are three lines (green, orange, and blue) and they will take guests directly to the park. For an all-day pass, visitors will only need to spend around $5, rather than paying the steep fee to park in a garage. Always make sure to plan travel routes and parking in advance in order to save time. Plan to leave at least an hour early to avoid pre-game congestion.
