Melvin Seals is an accomplished musician and keyboardist known for his work with the legendary Grateful Dead and their offshoot, the Jerry Garcia Band. Born on July 21, 1953, Seals grew up in a musical family in San Jose, California. His early influences included gospel, blues, and jazz, which shaped his unique sound and performance style. Seals joined the Jerry Garcia Band in the mid-1980s, where he gained recognition for his improvisational skills and ability to blend various musical genres.
