    Kansas Jayhawks Women's Volleyball History

The Kansas Jayhawks Women's Volleyball program was established in 1972, marking the beginning of a competitive journey in collegiate athletics. The team quickly became a part of the Big Eight Conference and later transitioned into the Big 12 Conference in 1996 following the conference's realignment. Over the years, the Jayhawks have seen significant growth in their performance, with notable milestones such as their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 1990. The program gained national recognition during the 2015 season when they achieved their first-ever top-10 ranking and reached the NCAA Tournament's Final Four, solidifying their position as a powerhouse in women's volleyball. The team's success can be attributed to the combination of strong coaching, talented players, and a dedicated fan base that has supported them throughout their history. Under the guidance of head coach Ray Bechard, who has been at the helm since 1998, the program has consistently produced competitive teams, with numerous All-American players and All-Big 12 selections making their mark in the sport.
