    About Indianapolis Children's Choir

Currently, the Indianapolis Children's Choir is actively engaged in a variety of concerts and events that highlight their talented young singers. As a key component of their annual activities, the ICC hosts multiple concerts throughout the year, including seasonal performances such as 'Home for the Holidays' and spring concerts that celebrate the culmination of their year's work. These concerts not only showcase the singers’ impressive abilities but also emphasize their growth and development throughout the year. In addition to their traditional concerts, the ICC participates in community outreach programs, providing performances in schools, local festivals, and charity events, which helps to foster a love for music in the broader community. Recently, the choir has adapted to the digital era by offering virtual performances and online outreach, ensuring they remain connected with their audience during unpredictable times. Furthermore, the ICC regularly collaborates with other organizations and artists, expanding their concert offerings and enriching their performance experiences. Looking forward, the Indianapolis Children's Choir is set to continue its tradition of excellence, with upcoming concerts planned that promise to engage and inspire both the performers and their audiences.

    Indianapolis Children's Choir History

The Indianapolis Children's Choir (ICC) was founded in 1986 by Linda D. D. Lentz with the vision of providing a rich choral experience for young singers in the Indianapolis area. Over the past three decades, the choir has grown from a small group of 56 children to over 500 members across various ensembles, catering to children aged 6 to 18. The choir's mission emphasizes musical excellence, while also prioritizing character development and a passion for singing. The ICC has collaborated with notable orchestras, including the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and has participated in numerous prestigious festivals and competitions, showcasing their talent on both national and international stages. This commitment to performance and education has earned the ICC a prominent reputation in the realm of children's choral music, with numerous awards and recognitions both locally and nationally. Their repertoire spans a wide variety of musical genres, offering children a comprehensive understanding of choral music, from classical works to contemporary pieces and world music.
