    Deicide History

Deicide is an American death metal band formed in 1987 in Tampa, Florida. Known for their aggressive musical style and controversial lyrics, the band was pivotal in the development of the death metal genre. The founding members included Glen Benton, the band's iconic bassist and vocalist, alongside brothers Eric and Brian Hoffman on guitar, and drummer Steve Asheim. They debuted with their self-titled album in 1990, but their second album, 'Legion,' released in 1992, solidified their place within the metal community, featuring some of their most infamous tracks. Over the years, Deicide has built a reputation not just for their dark and brutal sound, but also for their fiery performances and theatrical presence on stage, often exploring themes of religion and rebellion, which resonate powerfully with their audiences. Their concerts are characterized by intense energy, fierce musicianship, and a captivating stage presence that leaves a lasting impact on fans and newcomers alike, reinforcing their legacy in the metal scene.
