Get ready to witness the collaboration master of the internet generation. Tyler Marenyi, better known for his stage name Nghtmre, has quickly climbed his way to the top of trending electronic dance music artists with his dark, melodic sounds and his impressive collaborations with iconic DJs.
Marenyi obtained his finance degree at Elon University before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue his music. He attended Icon Collective Music Production School where he met Derek Andersen and Scott Land, the two producers who make up SLANDER. The developed a working relationship and began to tour together as headlining acts.
Nghtmre first gained recognition when Skrillex, a fellow producer, played one of his tracks during his Ultra Music Festival set. Nghtmre eventually signed to Mad Decent, a record label created by Diplo. His first festival performance was in 2015 at EDC Las Vegas. Since then, Nghtmre regularly tours and collaborates with fellow producers.
Nghtmre’s self-titled EP released in 2016 and charted on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronics Albums chart. Since then, he has been focusing much more on collaborations. He worked with Pegboard Nerds and Krewella to release “Superstar”. “Need You” was a single he released with the help of Dillon Francis on the Mad Decent label. Later, he collaborated with Flux Pavilion and released “Feel Your Love”. He worked with iconic rapper Afro to release “Stronger”, which also released through Mad Decent. In 2017, Nghtmre was featured in the Coachella lineup.
