New York Liberty Tickets
The New York Liberty was one of the first eight teams in WNBA history, and they have been a huge success since day one. The team has come tantalizingly close to winning the championship multiple times in their 16 seasons of existence, but they have yet to boost themselves over the hump to win it all. (The Liberty have the most championship appearances without a title in league history.)
What they have done, however, is make the Finals four times. That means that, on average, they represent the Eastern Conference in the WNBA Finals every four years. That’s very impressive stuff.
A Historic Franchise
Throughout their history, the Liberty have boasted some of the best players in WNBA history. Legendary basketball-playing women such as Rebecca Lobo and Teresa Weatherspoon (shooter of the amazing half-court buzzer beater in Game 2 of the 1999 WNBA Finals and the league’s all-time assists leader) have suited up for the Liberty, as have some other greats, including Weatherspoon’s successor Becky Hammon.
The Liberty’s best player in recent years has been guard Cappie Pondexter, who signed with the team in 2010 after thriving with the Phoenix Mercury. In the upcoming season, there’s a good chance that she, with the help of the constantly improving play of point guard Leilani Mitchell, brings the Liberty back to the top.

The Liberty will be playing their home games in the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, until after the 2013 season when renovations are complete at Madison Square Garden. Hopefully they can return to their home state with the type of team capable of breaking through and winning the franchise’s first WNBA championship.
