Marshmello has been a member of the electronic music fraternity for just under three years but that has not stopped him from making a serious impact. It was on March 3, 2015, when Marshmello uploaded his track WaVez on SoundCloud. He followed that up by posting a few more songs. Marshmello then went on to perform at the HARD Day of the Dead, Pomona and New York’s Pier 94.
The Debut Album and Notable Works
Marshmello released his first studio album titled “Joytime” on January 8, 2016. The record consisted of ten tracks and it did very well on the charts. Joytime went on to peak at the fifth spot on the US Dance/Electronic Albums chart. It also peaked at the forty first position on Billboard’s US Independent Albums chart and at the fourteenth spot on the US Top Heatseekers Albums.
Marshmello then went on to make his debut on Monstercat with the smash-hit Alone. The track was part of the compilation album “Monstercat 027-Cataclysm” and it brought the label’s way its first ever platinum certified record. A contest was then also announced whereby new artists would be given the chance to remix Alone. The winner would get their version released by Monstercat and they would also get an opportunity to open at Camp Bisco. MRVLZ won that competition.
Marshmello then released Alone’s video on YouTube and it got viral in no time. It went on to rack up well over an incredible six hundred million views. He also performed at the famous Electric Daisy Festival in June of 2016. Marshmello then announced that he will be hitting the road for a road trip titled “Ritual Tour.” As part of the tour, he performed in China, United States, Paraguay, India and South Korea. Marshmello has also collaborated with big names like Slushii, blackbear and Demi Lovato. He has also won one Remix Award till now.
