From North Carolina to Nashville, Luke Combs has taken a different route to most in order to make his mark in country music. Combs took a huge risk when he decided to relocate because if it didn’t work out for him in Nashville, he would have nowhere to go.

But it did work out. It wasn’t easy but he kept working hard and earned the right to be called a country star. 2017 especially was a very special year for him. Two of his singles When It Rains It Pours and Hurricane climbed to the first spot on the Country Airplay charts. Combs also featured quite heavily on The Devil Don’t Sleep Tour by Brantley Gilbert.

The time for him to shine has come. He will be performing plenty of shows this year and if you are a fan, then you can hop on for this unforgettable ride too. Just book your Luke Combs tickets and watch what makes him so special live.

Early Days

Luke Combs got into music at a very early age. While growing up in Asheville in North Carolina, he began to perform as a singer from a very young age. In high school, he used to play as a member of multiple vocal groups and also performed at the legendary Carnegie Hall.

Combs then went to attend Appalachian State University and it was during his university days that he picked up the guitar. He played his first show at the Parthenon Cafe. One month short of completing his fourth year in college, Combs decided to pick up his stuff and move to Nashville to become a musician. It was a risky decision because although his parents told him to give it shot, at the same time they also told him that if it did not work out, he would not be allowed to return home.

The Three EPs and Hurricane

Luke Combs came out with his debut EP titled “The Way She Rides” in February of 2014. In July, he released his second extended play “Can I Get an Outlaw.” Combs then released his debut single titled Hurricane and that is when he first got noticed. The track went on to sell fifteen thousand copies in the first week post release and also went to the forty sixth position on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. He followed that up by coming out with his third EP titled “This One’s for You” in November of 2015.

The Record Deal and First Album

Luke Combs then signed a recording contract with Sony Music Nashville and re-released Hurricane, the first single from his debut studio album “This One’s For You.” The song went on to reach the first spot on the Billboard Country Albums chart. The second track from the album When It Rains It Pours was released on June 19, 2017 and it went to top the Country Airplay Chart too.

Combs’ first studio album was released on June 2, 2017. It peaked at the first spot on the US Top Country Albums chart and climbed to the fifth position on the US Billboard 200. It also peaked at the thirty fifth spot in Canada. This One’s For You was certified gold in the United States.
