From Adoption to Social Media Star
Jacob Sartorius was born on October 2, 2002, but his biological parents had to give him up as they were not able to look after him. He was adopted and raised in Virginia. He was only seven years old when he began to act in various musicals. That is where he found out what it feels to perform live.
Sartorius was only eleven years old, when he uploaded a video on the video hosting service, “Vine.” The message was about anti-bullying and it went viral in no time. Sartorius became a social media celebrity of sorts and he kept on uploading more videos online. He then went on to join Musical.ly and became a big star there. He soon had a whopping fourteen million followers on the video sharing app. His fame on social media made him a target of more bullying and Sartorius began to use social media as his escape route.
Sartorius Makes an Impact
Jacob Sartorius then went on to sign with an independent label and came out with a song “Sweatshirt” in 2013. It went as high as the ninetieth spot on the Billboard Hot 100. He then released more singles. One of those tracks, “Hit or Miss” went to the seventy second spot in the US. Then, in 2016, he went on a six city road trip titled “All My Friends Tour.”
Jacob Sartorius then released his first EP which was titled “The Last Text EP” on January 20, 2017. The record peaked at the thirty second spot in the US and at the thirty third position in Canada. It also went to the number four spot in New Zealand. Sartorius then went on a world tour to support the EP in the early part of 2017.
