Before releasing his second album, Gucci Mane worked with some high profile artists – he was featured on the remix of “Boom Boom Pow” by The Black Eyed Peas and “Obsessed” by Mariah Carey. Following this, the artist released his second album, The State vs. Radric Davis, on 8th December, 2009. The single “Wasted” from this album reached number 36 on the Hot 100, number 3 on the Rap Songs chart and number 3 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart. Other popular singles from this album include “Spotlight” featuring Usher, “Bingo” and “Lemonade”.

In 2010, the rapper released another studio album, called The Appeal: Georgia’s Most Wanted. Less than a year later, Davis released his 10th EP, called The Return of Mr. Zone 6. Debuting at number 18 on the Billboard 200, it became his highest charting EP to date. 

Multiple album releases and one incarceration later, Gucci released his first single under his new deal with Atlantic Records. The single, called “First Day Out Tha Feds” came out right after the artist was released from prison in May 2016. In the same year, the rapper also headlined a concert “Gucci & Friends” at the Fox Theater in Atlanta – this concert also featured other major stars such as Future, Drake, 2 Chainz and Fetty Wap.

In September of 2016, Gucci Mane worked on a single called “Black Beatles” alongside Rae Sremmurd. This single reached no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in November 2016, becoming Davis’s first chart topper as a featured artist.

In the summer of 2017, Gucci Mane announced his eleventh studio album, “Mr. Davis”. The album was released a few months later in October 2017 and featured the hit song “I Get the Bag”. This single peaked at no. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the artist’s most successful single to date.

In 2017, his single with Fifth Harmony called “Down”, received a lot of accolades at the MTV Video Music Awards. It won the Best Pop Video Award and was nominated in the categories of Best Choreography and Song of the Summer.
