After spending years in cellar of the Western Conference, things continue to trend upward in Oakland. This young and dynamic Warriors squad will be looking to build on last year’s 51 wins, the most by a Golden State team since 1992!
The Splash Brothers
Steph Curry and Klay Thompson comprise arguably the best shooting backcourt in NBA history. The duo is practically unguardable from beyond the arc, finishing first and second in the NBA in three-pointers made last season by a comfortable margin. And their new head coach is none other than former NBA champion Steve Kerr, often considered himself to be one of the hottest hands in NBA history – so don’t expect the downtown splashes to dry up anytime soon. All eyes will be on Thompson, especially. The Warriors passed on packaging him in a trade for ex-Timberwolves All Star Kevin Love; expect Thompson to do everything in his power to prove their decision right.
A Balanced Attack
However, the Warriors aren’t just a one-trick pony, either. As deadly as Curry and Thompson can be from the outside, opposing teams can’t overlook a frontcourt of Andrew Bogut and David Lee. Bogut’s a former first overall draft pick that provides solid interior scoring and defense, and Lee is one of the NBA’s most consistent double-double machines. Toss in athletic wing defenders like Andre Iguodala and Harrison Barnes, and there’s no doubt that Golden State has one of the league’s deadliest and most balanced rosters from top-to-bottom.
The Warriors are headed for big gains in 2014-15. Get on out to Oracle Arena with ScoreBig, and you’ll save on every ticket, every day.
