Early Life & Influences
Carrie Underwood has been influenced by country legends Shania Twain, Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks and Randy Travis. At the same time, she has cited the legendary rock band Queen as her inspiration. In an interview with Digital Spy, she said,
“I grew up listening to Queen. They were no stranger to throwing in the unexpected and something a little more dramatic.” She also added “I'm influenced by them, and I love it when people do things that are different.”
Born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Carrie Underwood discovered her vocal abilities when she was young. She started off performing at local events.
