Billie Eilish Pirate Bair O’Connell, professionally known as Billie Eilish, was born on December 18, 2001 in Los Angeles, California. She grew up in a family of musicians – her mother was an actress, musician, and screenwriter and her brother is a song writer and producer. Eilish was homeschooled and at age eight she joined the Los Angeles Children’s Choir. When she was eleven, she began writing and singing her own songs. Eilish was also very involved with dance, specifically contemporary. She would spend 11 hours a week in the studio and compete with her dance company. Due to a growth plate injury, Eilish had to shift her focus from dancing to music.

Eilish recorded her debut single, “Ocean Eyes”, in October 2015. The song was originally written by her brother, Finneas, for his band. In 2016 she released the song on SoundCloud. Shortly after she managed to land a deal with Interscope Records. On November 18, 2016 “Ocean Eyes” was rereleased worldwide through Interscope and Dark Room. The song was a huge hit and is now certified Gold by the RIAA. Eilish’s next single was titled “Bellyache”. This single was produced and co-written with Finneas. In March of 2017, Eilish released the song “Bored” which was included on the 13 Reasons Why soundtrack. The on August 11, 2018 Eilish released her debut EP titled Don’t Smile at Me. The EP included the hit single “Ocean Eyes” and peaked at number 38 on the Billboard 200. After the release of the EP, Eilish worked with Vince Staples on a track called “&Burn”. In 2018 she released a collaboration with Khalid called “Lovely”.

After dropping another single, “you should see me in a crown”, Eilish announced a North American tour. The 1 By 1 Tour will kick off on October 23, 2018 at the Roseland Theatre in Portland, Oregon. Prior to the beginning of the tour Eilish will be making appearances at Lollapalooza, Osheaga, and Outside Lands. Eilish will also be performing two shows with Florence and The Machine; one at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville and another at Spectrum Center in Charlotte.
