The mixtape contained eighteen songs including, Ferg’s debut single, Work. Produced by Fly and Chinza, the track quickly gained popularity and made it to Complex’s list of the ’50 Best Songs of 2012.’

On January 10, 2013, Ferg was signed with Polo Grounds and RCA Records. He then announced that his first solo studio effort, ‘Trap Lord’ will be hitting the shelves later in the year. In the meantime, Ferg churned out the remix version of his song, Work, which featured rappers, French Montana, A$AP Rocky, Trinidad James and Schoolboy Q. He then released, ‘Trap Lord’ which got everyone’s attention. The album landed at the ninth spot on the Billboard 200 and yielded three singles out of which, Shabba went gold in the U.S.
