Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival: Eminem, The Killers & Muse - 4 Day Pass
Manchester Farm - Manchester, TN
Anderson Paak has made huge strides forward in a relatively short space of time. He is one of the most exciting young talents on the circuit today. Paak’s talents were first recognized by Dr. Dre who asked the youngster to work on his album “Compton.” Now that was a big risk to take as the record was Dre’s comeback album but he knew he had a special talent on his hands.
Paak did more work on the album than Eminem and Snoop Dogg who also featured on the record. That was because of the confidence Dr. Dre had in his abilities. Paak repaid the faith and is now among the fastest rising names in hip hop music. He is all set to fly Down Under and perform in New Zealand and Australia soon. Who knows he might just hit the road for his fans in the US too. Get ready to grab your Anderson Paak tickets when that happens because you would not want to miss out on the chance to see him live in concert.
Anderson Paak was a student at Foothill Technology High School and that was when he first began to produce music – from his own bedroom. He first got a taste of performing in front of people in a church as a drummer.
It was in the year 2011 that his life began to turn around and he first began to make his mark in LA. He started to work on his first album and “O.B.E. Vol. 1” came out as a digital download in the middle of 2012. Paak then went on to play drums for Haley Reinhart. In November of 2013, he released “Cover Art,” an EP. That was a follow up to “Lovejoy” another LP that had been released for digital download on October 31, 2012.
“Venice” and Collaboration with Dr. Dre
Anderson Paak released an album titled “Venice” on October 24, 2014. Then came the chance to work with Dr. Dre on “Compton.” The record went to the second spot on the US Billboard 200 on its debut and received a lot of critical acclaim. A lot of critical praise was reserved for Paak and the work he had done on the album.
“Malibu” and “Yes Lawd!”
On January 15, 2015, Anderson Paak released his next album “Malibu.” AllMusic, The Irish Times and Q all gave it four stars out of five. It received three stars from the Rolling Stone and four and a half stars out of five from The Austin Chronicle. Malibu also went on to peak at the ninth spot on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and charted in multiple countries around the globe. It also received a Grammy Award nomination for the “Best Urban Contemporary Album.”
He then went on to work with NxWorries on their first album “Yes Lawd!” which was released on October 21, 2016. The album received three and a half stars out of five from AllMusic. It also received four stars from The Guardian, NMA and The Irish Times. The Observer gave it five stars out of five.
