Amos Lee has a fantastic voice but a great voice is not a sure-shot recipe for success. You add an incredibly diverse vocal range to the equation and that is when you get an artist as good as Amos Lee.
Lee is a singer that has proved that he has what it takes to not only reach the top but also stay there. Plenty of big names are fans of his voice and among them is Adele who once said:
Amos is a magnificent singer, incredible. I first saw him at the Jazz Café in 2006 and have adored him since. His voice blows me away.
If there is someone who knows a thing or two about great voices, it is Adele. Lee is just as good of a live performer too and he will perform live for his fans in the near future. If you want to listen to one of the most brilliant voices in the business today, then book your Amos Lee tickets.
Born in Philadelphia, Amos Lee relocated to Cherry Hill in New Jersey when he was just eleven years old. He went to the University of South Carolina and that is where he first developed interest in music. It was during that time that he first learned how to play bass and the guitar.
Lee then returned to Philly and became a teacher at the Mary McLeod Bethune School. At the same time, he also began to work as a bartender at multiple music venues. He used to play open mic sessions and his manager Bill Eib landed him opening slots for names like B.B. King and Mose Allison.
In the year 2003, Eib gave a four track demo CD of Lee’s performances to various record labels and people at Blue Note Records were so impressed that they signed him. Norah Lee then got to listen to his music and she asked Lee to become the opening act for her tour that was to commence in 2004. In early 2005, Lee earned an opportunity to tour with the legend Bob Dylan. That was followed by him going on solo tours.
