Alesso is hands down one of the most popular DJs and record producers today. He began his journey by remixing tracks from other artists. As time progressed, he started to come up with his own music too. His music began to catch the attention of the EDM fraternity and Alesso’s tracks began to be played at clubs all around the world.
Alesso has not been a part of the music industry for that long and that makes what he has achieved even more remarkable. He will soon play on the road for his fans and one of those shows will see him perform at the famous Ultra Music Festival. Grab your Alesso tickets and watch him bring the house down live.
Alesso was born in Stockholm, Sweden and began to play piano when he was just seven years old. He got hooked to electronic dance music when he was just sixteen years old and first shot to prominence in the year 2010 when he came out with “Alesso EP.” He was then asked by Sebastian Ingrosso if he wanted to work with him. It was an opportunity too good to miss and Alesso agreed.
It was Ingrosso who first told Alesso what it takes to become a DJ and how to produce music. Alesso learnt how to DJ in the year 2011 and it was in the same year that he made it to DJ Magazine’s list of the top 100 DJs.
Alesso Comes to the Party
Alesso began to produce music and one of his earliest tracks Calling went to the second spot on the Beatport charts. He then went on to remix the track Pressure by Nadia Ali and that effort went straight to the top of The Hype Machine. That was the beginning of his ascend to the top.
Alesso went on to tour with Madonna and opened a few selected shows in Europe on her MDNA World Tour. Not only that, but he also went on to perform in front of a whopping sixty thousand fans at Creamfields. In 2012, Alesso made it to the twentieth spot on DJ Magazine’s list of the top 100 DJs of 2012.
By the time 2013 rolled into town, Alesso had already been one of the most sought after DJs in the world. He had already performed at major music festivals and then he came out with a remix version of the OneRepublic track If I Lose Myself which went on to be nominated for a Grammy.
The Debut Studio Album
2014 saw him sign a recording contract with Def Jam Recordings which made him only the second EDM artist to sign with the label. The first one was Afrojack. He then went on to release more songs and also toured. The time had however come for him to release his first studio album and he duly delivered.
The record was titled “Forever” and it came out on May 22, 2015. It earned a lot of acclaim from critics like AllMusic and Rolling Stone who gave it three and a half stars and three stars out of five respectively.
Forever also went on to peak at the first spot on the US Top Dance/Electronic Albums and at the eighth position on the US Digital Albums charts. It also went to the twenty fourth spot on the US Billboard 200 and UK charts. In his country of birth, Sweden, the album went to the fourth position. It also charted in multiple countries around the globe.
