The home of the Major League Baseball Washington Nationals is situated in the southeast quadrant of Washington, D.C. Nationals Park cost nearly $800 million to complete, including base construction costs, transportation services, artwork, and building upgrades. Over 15.5 million pounds of steel were used in the construction of the stadium. ?
Nationals Park opened in 2008 to a George Washington Colonials win over Saint Joseph’s University. The Washington Nationals began their first season at the ballpark just as strong with a 3-0 win. Washington Nationals merchandise can be purchased at the Nationals Clubhouse Store locations in the Center Field Plaza and near the Home Plate Gate and at booths located behind Sections 114, 140, 208, 304 and 319. Nationals Park features natural grass and an open roof, giving fans the thrill of outdoor baseball with the comfort of stadium seating and the enjoyment of technology and amenities. The main scoreboard is 47 feet tall and 101 feet long and displays in high definition. The stadium also features 600 feet of LED ribbon board.?

Nationals Park offers 23 seating areas. The stadium has a seating capacity of more than 41,000 spread out over four levels and 23 sections. Seats in the first base side of the stadium offer a view of the Washington Monument and the Capitol building. Views of the riverfront and the Navy Yard are also available in several sections throughout the ballpark.

Nationals Park is located at 1500 South Capitol Street, SE in Washington, D.C. near the Anacostia River. The stadium is bordered by North Street on the north, Potomac Avenue on the south, South Capitol Street on the west, and First Street on the east. From the airport, Nationals Park is only a ten-minute drive.? There are seven surface parking lots and three parking garages available for Nationals Park parking. MVP parking is available in the garages off of North Street SE. The third garage is located off of M Street SE and Half Street SE. Lot W off of M Street SE and 7th Street SE has designated bus, limousine, and large vehicle parking. Parking fees vary by lot. Parking can be purchased for individual games or season plans.

Several public transit options are available to take guests to Nationals Park. The Metrorail is the fastest and most convenient option for public transportation. The Green Line stops at the Navy Yard Station, only a half of a block north of Nationals Park’s Center Field gate. The Navy Yard Station can service up to 24,000 fans per hour. Metro makes Nationals Park accessible from all areas with its easy transfers; the Gallery Place/Chinatown station, L'Enfant Plaza, and Fort Totten all offer transfer service to the Green Line. Plus, Metro Park and Ride lots provide 57,000 parking spaces with free parking on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.? Several Metrobus routes and the DC Circulator bus also service Nationals Park. The DC Circulator bus stops only a half a block north of Nationals Park at the Navy Yard station. For a more unique transportation experience, guests can take the Potomac River Company’s Baseball Boat for a relaxing ride and beautiful river view.

Nationals Park also provides more than 250 bike racks around the ballpark. Nationals Park offers a free bike valet on North Street open two hours before each game.
