Amway Center Tickets

Located in the heart of ‘The City Beautiful’, the Amway Center is an entertainment and sporting landmark. Breaking ground in July 25, 2008, the center has since been a pride for the Orlando city. In 2017, the International Association of Venue Managers honored the center with the Venue Excellence Award, bestowed upon them for their state-of-the-art facilities and operational standards. The Venue Industry Awards are a part of the annual VenueConnect Conference and Trade Show that celebrated its 92^nd anniversary.

Built on a customer centric vision, the Amway Center is owned by the City of Orlando but was developed by the NBA team, Orlando Magic. Creating memorable experiences for its patrons, the center is not just home of thrilling sporting events but also an entertainment hub. Along with the announcement of new schedule, Amway Center tickets are also updated regularly for all kinds of events.

Amway Center – Formation

From 1989 till 2010, the Orlando Magic played their home games at the Amway Arena. With the rise of advanced entertainment centers, the Amway Arena became one of the oldest NBA venues, thus prompting the team’s owners to push for a new one. After years of negotiations, finally in 2006, the Orange County Mayor and Orlando’s Mayor gave their approval for a new facility. In agreement with the team Magic, downtown Orlando was announced as the location.

Amway exercised its naming rights to the new venue and announced $40 million, 10 years deal in 2009, deciding upon the name, the Amway Center. Two years after breaking ground, in 2010 the center opened its doors for the first time on October 1.

The Orlando Magic was a huge part of the planning of the venue and it was their vision that turned the dream from blueprints into a reality.  

Amway Center – Modern Multipurpose Facility

Reflecting the character of the state of Florida and its community, the Amway Center was built on the astounding sports and entertainment legacy. Featuring a modern blend of metal and glass exterior, the center stands tall at 180 feet. One side of the building has a monumental wall that keeps changing graphics, adding to the center’s appeal.

Constructed on 875,000 square feet area, the Amway Center has a capacity of 20,000 and technologically advanced amenities. Offering premium facilities, the center boasts of 1,100 digital monitors; whereas, the basketball venue has the tallest, HD video board. Keeping in mind the moderate climate of Orlando, the center has both indoor and outdoor event spaces.

Besides entertainment and sports venues, the center has several indoor and outdoor restaurants, along with a food court. Special events and attractions take place all year round, bringing in a huge crowd at the center.

Amway Center – What’s Happening

The 2018 schedule is out at the Amway Center and some exciting events have been lined up. It all starts with the home team, the Orlando Magic as they take on rivals like the Minnesota Timberwolves and Sacramento Kings. Even though the Magic haven’t had a very successful run in the last couple of seasons, the turnout at their home games has been quite impressive.

With a capacity of 18,846 at the basketball venue, in 2017 the center recorded an attendance of 19,789 against the Dallas Mavericks. The team played in 14 sellout games as the diehard supporters cheered out loud for their side.

Since 2012, the Amway Center has also been the home of ice hockey team Orlando Solar Bears. The 2018 schedule will see the team make a run for the Kelly Cup, as they face their South Division rivals Florida Everblades. The Amway Center tickets for this series are already selling out and a jam-packed house is being anticipated.

For the music lovers, the Amway Center has lined up some epic shows. Guess who is coming to the center? The international Latin pop sensation, Shakira!

The 12-time Latin Grammy Award winner will hit the center in August as part of her “El Dorado World Tour”. The tour is in support of her 11^th album “El Dorado” that came out in May 2017. Topping the Billboard Latin charts, the album produced hits like “Déjà vu”, “Perro Fiel” and “Me Enamoré”.

Country music sweetheart, Miranda Lambert will also bring her “Livin’ Like Hippies Tour” to the Amway Center. The trek is in support of her 6^th album “The Weight of These Wings” that won Album of the Year honor at the 2017 ACM Awards.

Another event to look out for at the center is Marvel Universe Live! Age of Heroes. An action-packed live show, it unites some of the greatest Marvel super heroes.
